Our Pedigree Herd

We have a herd of pedigree Red Ruby Devons. The Devons spend most of their time on the hill, foraging amongst the gorse and heather for the tasty herbage that helps to make their meat taste so good and it is high in Omega3 due to having a grass diet.

The Trenowin herd is a member of the CHeCs herd health scheme, accredited free of BVD, IBR, Leptospirosis and Risk Level 1 Johne's Disease Status. We currently have for sale breeding heifers and young bulls, both polled and de-horned. All our cattle are fed on home made grass silage diet in the winter and are turned out in the Spring onto the down land and hill where they are able to roam the higher part of the farm to mature slowly. We select our heifers to breed at around 24 - 26 months to calve in with the cows in early January.  A small number of bull calves are selected each year for future breeding bulls and the rest of the males to be fattened for the Farm Shop.

Show time!

Our stock bull, Knowstone Rock Solid 2nd (Rocky to his friends) is a very handsome chap and likes nothing better to look out from his pen at the top of the yard, which was the car park of the shop and loves to recieve a stroke from his admirers.
